Antibes Crew Houses: Prices, Bunks and How to Book (2026)

What an Antibes crew house is

An Antibes crew house is a shared house for yacht crew looking for work. You rent a bunk by the night or the week, cook in a shared kitchen and live with anywhere from about 15 to 40 other people. Most of them are dockwalking and picking up daywork around Port Vauban.

That's the real reason to stay in one. The bed is just a bed. What you're paying for is the information. Housemates pass on daywork they can't take, and some houses run job boards and WhatsApp groups. You'll also hear which captains are hiring, which boats to avoid and which agency actually calls back. A cheap Airbnb on the edge of town can't give you any of that.

The trade-off is tight living. You get bunks, shared bathrooms on some floors and strict rules on noise, arrival times and notice. In return you get the cheapest beds near Port Vauban and a house full of people who know where the work is.

What the table can't show:

Most weekly bunks land around €240–305. Before you choose on price, think about the walk. If you're dockwalking at 08:00, a bunk 200 m from the quay is worth more than a pool 30 minutes away. Our dockwalking guide explains why the early start matters.

Which crew house suits you

The Crew Grapevine: for green crew who want the job network

The Crew Grapevine was founded in 2009 by a yacht captain and a yacht chef, and runs weekly industry inductions and interview workshops, plus CV printing and critique. Guests say they're added to house WhatsApp groups where jobs get posted. In your first season, that support is worth paying for.

Bohobos Crewhouse: the cheapest bed closest to the port

Bohobos Crewhouse costs €240/week, sits 200 m from Port Vauban, and has privacy curtains on the bunks and air conditioning. It only opens from March to October.

Debbie's Crew House: a pool and some quiet

Debbie's Crew House is a gated villa with a garden and pool on Route de Nice, outside the centre, and is popular with more senior crew between jobs or doing courses. Buses 10, 23 and 620 stop outside.

The Glamorgan: a private room in town

The Glamorgan has doubles at €110/night or €500/week, but ask about availability. Most rooms are ensuite, all are air-conditioned and laundry is free.

What's included, and what isn't

Most houses include bed linen and towels, Wi-Fi and a shared kitchen. The differences are small but add up over a few weeks:

House rules and booking: read the small print

Most money problems crew have with these houses come from the cancellation rules. Read them for the house you pick:

How to book: book direct with each house. The Grapevine takes reservations over WhatsApp and Debbie's takes them by email through its rooms and rates page. Bohobos, the Glamorgan and Crew Lighthouse list rates and contact details on their sites.

When to book: the dock advice is simple. Antibes fills up in April and May, when crew arrive for the Med season, and again around the September boat shows. Book a few weeks ahead for those. Outside them, the week before often works.

Alternatives if the crew houses are full

Stay in Nice and take the train

Regional trains from Nice-Ville to Antibes take around 20 minutes, run often and cost a few euros one way (see Rome2Rio). If you're staying a while, the Pass SudAzur Explore gives unlimited travel on the Alpes-Maritimes and Monaco network: €35 for 3 days, €50 for 7 or €80 for 14. Antibes station is about a ten-minute walk from Port Vauban, and the pass covers Monaco too, which helps around Monaco Yacht Show week.

The downside is that you miss the evening chat in a crew house, which is where a lot of daywork gets passed on.

Hostel

Bohobos Hostel, next door to the crewhouse, takes all travellers and stays open in winter, when the crewhouse is closed. Dorm beds start at €30/night from November to February. In peak yachting season it says it only takes people working in the industry, on weekly rates.

Share a flat with other crew

Splitting a flat or an Airbnb with two or three other job-hunters can be cheaper per head, especially for a month or more. Dockwalk notes you can often get a pre-season deal on an apartment close to the port. You'll be away from the crew house network, though, so you'll have to work harder to hear about jobs.

Red flags

Once you've got a bed

Once you're settled in an Antibes crew house, start working the docks. Our guides to daywork for green crew and the main daywork hubs cover what to do next. When you're in town, check in on the Radius map so captains nearby can see you're available for daywork.
